Good - record your total time(s) by role(s)
Get The Job Done - record your total time only
1. Best - Record every flight from your old logbook (paper or digital)
Entering every flight from your old logbook can be time-consuming, but you will get the most out of Pilot Life.
NOTE: Make sure to add all your aircraft to your Hangar to organize your hours by Category/Class, Engine type, and Gear type.
Start with your first flight in your old logbook
Add a manual logbook entry to add the flight from your logbook entry
Do the same for every logbook entry in your old logbook
2. Better - Record your total time(s) by aircraft type and role(s)
This method will organize your logbook and is great to report your flying experience by aircraft types and roles you acted.
Create generic aircraft in your Hangar to reflect the various aircraft types you have flown. Think Category/Class, Engine Type and Gear Type
If you have flown 10 different Cessna 172's, create a generic Cessna 172 type in your Hangar with Single Engine Land, Piston and Fixed Tricycle
Create ONE manual logbook entry per role per aircraft type to log your Total Time, Cross Country, Instrument, Night times, and other data you wish to record
Do the same for every aircraft type and role acted
3. Good - Record your total time(s) by role(s)
If you don't wish to organize your logbook by aircraft type(s), you can record your time(s) by role(s) acted.
Create ONE manual logbook entry per role to log your Total Time, Cross Country, Instrument, Night times and other data you wish to record
Do the same for every role acted
4. Get The Job Done - Record your total time
If you just want to add your Total Time from your old logbook so you can show off your hours on Pilot Life, simply:
Create ONE manual logbook entry with your Total Time
