Safety Contacts is a new feature in Pilot Life designed to give your loved ones, friends or instructor peace of mind while you’re in the air. With this feature, selected contacts will automatically receive a text message when you take off and another when you land. The text message contains a URL to a Live Map for your Safety Contact to follow your flight in real-time.

🛫 How It Works

  1. Get Pilot Life

Download the latest version of Pilot Life from the App Store or Google Play.

  2. Add your Safety Contacts

Head to your Pilot Profile → Settings → Auto-Tracking → Safety contacts. Add up to three (3) phone numbers of people you want notified.

  3. Take off, and we’ll do the rest

When Pilot Life detects your flight has started, your Safety Contacts will receive a text message letting them know you’re airborne.

  4. Land, and send peace of mind

Upon landing, another message is sent to confirm you’ve safely arrived.

Each message includes a link to your Live Flight Map, so your contacts can follow along.

✅ Why Use It?

  • Keeps family, friends, or instructors in the loop automatically

  • No need to remember to text before or after flying

  • Works with any aircraft, even if you fly different planes often — no tail number or registration needed to follow your flight

🔒 Privacy First

Your contacts only receive SMS messages when a flight is detected. They do not need to download the app or create an account.
